  1. *ALLOCATE BUFFER
  2. This buffer is the general-use buffer that is
  3. used for all SCSI commands that perform Data I/O.
  4. Select an appropriate buffer size or Enter to
  5. use the default of 64KB.
  6.  
  7. An Error Window will be displayed if the specified
  8. buffer size exceeds the maximum amount of available
  9. free memory.
  10.  
  11. *SELECT ADAPTER
  12. This menu displays the adapters that were found
  13. in the system.  If more than one adapter is found,
  14. an adapter must be selected to scan for devices.
  15.  
  16. *SELECT DRIVE
  17. This menu displays the drives that were found on 
  18. the selected SCSI host adapter.  Select a drive
  19. to be tested.
  20.  
  21. *FORMAT UNIT
  22. Use this option with extreme caution.  All data on
  23. the disk will be lost.
  24.  
  25. NOTE: This function does not perform a Mode Select
  26.   so the Drive's default parameters will be used.
  27.   Use the Future Domain SETUP utility if the Drive's
  28.   parameters need to be changed.
  29.  
  30. *START/STOP
  31. Select option to Stop/Start the drive platter.
  32.  
  33. *LOCK/UNLOCK
  34. Select option to Lock/Unlock the Media in place.
  35. This option is also referred to as Prevent/Allow
  36. media.
  37.  
  38. For CD-ROM drives, this option Disables/enables the
  39. eject button on the front of the drive. 
  40.  
  41. *LOAD/UNLOAD
  42. Select option to Load/Unload Media.
  43.  
  44. *SELECT TEST ADAPTER
  45. Select the appropriate Adapter Type which matches
  46. the currently selected adapter.  Selecting an
  47. incorrect Adapter Type will likely to cause Errors.
  48.  
  49. *USER SELECT
  50. If an attached SCSI drive is not found in the Drive
  51. selection menu, use this form to select the Device
  52. Type, Id and Lun manually.
  53.  
  54. *GET PARAMETERS
  55. These parameters are used and required for all the
  56. SCSI command options.
  57.  
  58. BLOCK LENGTH: Device sector size in bytes.
  59.  
  60. The following three field are not required for use
  61. on the TMC-1800 (16-bit) host adapters.
  62.  
  63. BLOCK FACTORA:
  64. BLOCK FACTORB: In most cases, both fields will
  65.   contain the BLOCK LENGTH value.
  66.  
  67. BURST MODE: For most drives, this option should be
  68.   enabled.  This option is used for drives that are
  69.   capable of transfering a block of data with no
  70.   more than an 8 microsecond delay between each byte
  71.   of data.

  73. *GET TEST
  74. This form gives the option of modifying the SCSI
  75. command block, timeout value, expected length and
  76. the block factor values.
  77.  
  78. Press the <F10> key to issue the command to the
  79. device.
  80.  
  81. *MAIN MENU
  82. This menu is broken down into two sections.
  83.  
  84. The first section displays the most common SCSI
  85. commands that can be issued to the specified device.
  86.  
  87. The second section displays a few utilities to 
  88. diagnose the SCSI host adapter, reselect a SCSI
  89. host adapter or device and an option to Reset the
  90. SCSI bus.
  91.  
  92. NOTE: If a SCSI command is not listed in the menu,
  93.   select the Custom CMD Block option to create a
  94.   user defined command block.
  95.  
  96. *END-USER MENU
  97. This menu displays up to 5 diagnostic options
  98. depending on the type of device being tested.
  99.  
  100. *NO HELP
  101. There is no help available.
